1. Overview
This is a commonly used sensor for detecting magnetic fields. It mainly uses the MKA10110 green reed element. Reed pipe is the abbreviation of dry reed pipe. It is a passive electronic switch component with contacts. It has the advantages of simple structure, small size and easy control. Its outer casing is a sealed glass tube with two iron elastic reed plates and an inert gas. In general, two reeds which are made of special materials in the glass tube are separated. When a magnetic substance is close to the glass tube, under the action of the magnetic field lines, the two reeds in the tube are magnetized to attract each other, and the reeds are attracted together to connect the circuit which is connected to the node.
After the external magnetic force disappears, the two reeds are separated due to their own elasticity, and the circuit is broken. The sensor uses the characteristics of components to build a circuit to convert the magnetic field signal into a high-low level conversion signal.
The sensor is compatible with various microcontroller control boards, such as the Arduino series of microcontrollers. When using it, we provide a method to use this sensor with the Arduino series of microcontrollers.
The sensor comes with a 2.54mm anti-reverse plug white terminal. When in use, we can connect to the MCU with DuPont cable. To facilitate wiring, we also specially designed an expansion board that is fully compatible with this sensor and the Arduino UNO R3 microcontroller. We only need to stack the expansion board to the UNO R3 MCU, and use a 3P double-head XH2.54 plug wire (anti-reverse) to connect to the expansion board, which is simple and convenient.
At the same time, the sensor comes with 2 3mm diameter positioning holes, so you can fix the sensor to other devices.
