The MFRC522 is a highly integrated reader/writer IC for contactless communication
at 13.56 MHz. This contactless reader/writer IC is of low-cost, low voltage and small-size and is designed for the application of water meter, electricity meter and gas meter. It¡¯s a good choice for intelligent instrument and portable device development. MF RC522 adopts advanced modulation and demodulation theory and has integrated all types of passive contactless communication mode and protocols at 13.56 MHz. It supports compatible 14443A transponder signal. The digital part deals with ISO14443A frame and error inspection. It also supports CRYPT01 encryption algorithm for verify MIFARE products. MFRC522 supports faster contactless communication such as MIFARE. The bidirectional data transfer rate is as high as 424kbit/s. As a new member in 13.56 MHz highly integrated reader/writer IC, MF RC522 bears many similarities with MF RC500 AND MF RC530 as well as different features. MF RC522 adopts SPI mode for communication with host machine, which helps to simplify wiring and downsize PCB board, thus reducing product cost.
